Dancing
About This Machine
Dancing is a single-player electro-mechanical pinball machine from Centro Matic S.A. of Spain, active from 1973 to 1978; its exact production year isn't documented. The theme centers on music, singing, and dancing, brought to life through mechanical backbox animation, silhouettes that dance across the backglass as the game is played.
The playfield includes two flippers, three pop bumpers, two slingshots, and four standup targets, a compact, fairly standard EM ruleset for the period. A manufacturer's flyer suggests a layout resembling Bally's 1964 'Mad World,' including what appears to be a long right-side ball-advance lane, though this hasn't been confirmed with photos of an actual playfield.
Dancing offers a distinctive presentation for its era thanks to the animated backglass, standing out among Centro Matic's short run of EM output from 1970s Spain.
