About This Machine

Meet Zephy, a rare gem from the Brazilian pinball scene, manufactured in 1982 by LTD do Brasil Diversoes Eletronicas Ltda of Campinas, Sao Paulo, a company that operated from 1977 to 1984. As one of the few Brazilian-made pinball machines from this era, Zephy offers a unique glimpse into the country's contribution to the evolution of pinball. It is a copy of Bally's 1980 'Xenon,' with all parts made locally by LTD in Campinas.

From a gameplay perspective, Zephy boasts an array of challenging features for its three players. The machine is equipped with two flippers, four pop bumpers, and two kick-out holes, as well as a 4-bank drop target system. What sets it apart from other machines of its time is the clever use of an aerial transport tube connecting the ramp to the left-side kick-out hole, adding an extra layer of excitement to the gameplay experience.

Zephy's fantasy theme exudes a sense of whimsy that was characteristic of many pinball machines from this era. While little is known about the designer behind Zephy, this machine is an intriguing find for collectors and enthusiasts who seek out rare, lesser-known pinballs that add depth to our understanding of the hobby's rich history.
