Fire Action
About This Machine
Fire Action, released by Taito do Brasil in 1980, is a solid-state electronic pinball machine closely modeled on Williams' 1980 'Firepower,' one of the most popular American machines of its day, adapted here for the Brazilian market.
This game features a busy layout with two flippers, four pop bumpers, two slingshots, and ten stand-up targets. Three kick-out holes, two star rollovers, and a spinning target add to the machine's complexity and challenge players to master its various aspects. A left outlane kickback gives players a second chance to keep the ball in play, softening the punishment of an errant shot.
The art and design of Fire Action are characteristic of 1980s pinball machines, with vibrant colors and geometric shapes dominating the playfield, reflecting its Outer Space theme. Little information about this machine's designer has surfaced, but as a Brazilian adaptation of a landmark Williams design, Fire Action remains an interesting example of how popular American pinball concepts spread internationally in the early 1980s.
