About This Machine

The Motordome, a 1986 solid-state electronic pinball machine from Bally Wulff of Germany, is the German-licensed counterpart to Bally Midway's 1986 U.S. release of the same name, produced under license from Bally Midway with the licensing text appearing on the backglass and cabinet sides. Designed by Greg Kmiec with art by Tony Ramunni and software by Rehman Merchant, it brought Bally Midway's motorsports-themed design to the European market.

Gameplay-wise, the Motordome offers a motocross and motorcycle racing theme, complete with ramps, targets, and other challenges built around the sport. A distinguishing feature is the choice of three different skill levels, letting players tailor the difficulty of the game to their experience.

As a licensed German release of an American design, the Motordome represents Bally Wulff's ongoing relationship with Bally Midway during the mid-1980s, giving European players access to Bally's motorsports-themed pinball a year after its U.S. debut.
