Big Dick
About This Machine
Big Dick, produced by Fabulous Fantasies of Tarzana, California in 1996, is a rare adult-themed re-theme of Williams' 1963 electromechanical machine 'Big Deal'. Only 5 customized units were made, according to Herb Silvers of Fabulous Fantasies, who re-themed the games with a new backglass (art by Dave Christensen), custom plastics, a repainted cabinet, and a tape-based sound system -- the original Williams playfield art was otherwise left unchanged.
Key gameplay elements carried over from the base game include two flippers, three pop bumpers, four passive bumpers, two slingshots, and four drop targets, along with a large non-kicking rebound rubber positioned between and below the flippers. The custom backglass adds a feature awarding a Special that carries over from game to game, along with a lit playing-card animation, and the tape sound system plays a custom tune when the bumpers are lit and the game starts up. Maximum displayed score is 1,999 points.
According to Silvers, the five games were built in 1996 for a movie company and a swing club, following earlier one-off backglass conversions he had made in 1991 and 1993. Though the coin door's Limited Edition plaque suggested 20 would be made, only five customized cabinets were ever produced; many other machines simply have one of Silvers' extra replacement backglasses installed in an otherwise-original Williams cabinet, and are not among the five genuine customized units.
