About This Machine

Beat the Clock is a 1985 solid-state pinball machine designed by George Christian, with art by Tony Ramunni and software by Rehman Merchant. This release was manufactured by Bally Wulff of Berlin, West Germany, under license from Bally Midway — it is the same game as Bally Midway's 1985 U.S. release of the same name, differing only in the backglass and cabinet text noting the licensing arrangement.

The four-player, sports/competition-themed game features three flippers, three pop bumpers, a six-bank of drop targets, a single drop target, and two kick-out holes, giving players a fast-paced set of shots to work with.

Beyond the licensing arrangement with Bally Wulff, relatively little additional detail is documented about the machine's reception or production run, but its shared design with the U.S. Bally Midway version makes it a recognizable European counterpart to a familiar American title.
