Star's Phoenix
About This Machine
Star, released by Zaccaria in July 1987, was one of the final games produced before the Italian manufacturer's operations wound down that year. It's a four-player solid-state machine built around a dice/gambling theme, running on Zaccaria's second-generation MPU platform.
The playfield features three flippers (with the upper-left flipper doubling as a gate), two pop bumpers, a kick-out hole, and a 5-bank of Flyaway targets, along with LED score displays. Notably, Star includes 2-ball multiball - one of only two multiball games Zaccaria ever produced, alongside its close relative, New Star's Phoenix.
As with several late Zaccaria titles, no individual designer is credited for Star, but its status as one of the company's last and only multiball-capable releases gives it a distinct place in the manufacturer's history.
