Revenge From Mars
About This Machine
Revenge From Mars, designed by George Gomez and released by Midway Manufacturing Company (trade name Bally) in January 1999, was the first game to reach production on Williams' new Pinball 2000 (PB2K) platform, even though it was actually the second PB2K project developed, following Williams' Star Wars Episode I. It also holds the distinction of being the last pinball game ever released under the Bally label, closing out a storied brand name.
A sequel to Midway's 1995 hit Attack from Mars, Revenge From Mars continues the tongue-in-cheek alien invasion storyline for up to four players, featuring wobbling Martian toys on the playfield and multiple character voices provided by voice-over artist Tim Kitzrow. The game uses standard flippers, and its playfield combines classic mechanical pinball elements with the Pinball 2000 platform's new video-driven display technology.
With 6,878 confirmed units produced, Revenge From Mars is remembered by collectors both for its technical ambition and its place in pinball history as one of only two titles ever released on the Pinball 2000 platform before Williams exited the pinball business.
