Master
About This Machine
The MM Computer Games' Master pinball machine, manufactured in 1988, is an entry in the world of solid-state electronic (SS) pinball, running on the ManilaMatic System 80B Combi platform. As one of a handful of machines from ManilaMatic, a relatively unknown manufacturer at the time, it's an example of the smaller-scale European pinball production of the late 1980s. Notably, at least one surviving example lacked clear ManilaMatic markings or a serial number and was found to contain a mix of Gottlieb parts, with its game PROM missing - adding some uncertainty to its documentation.
Gameplay features on the Master include three flippers and three pop bumpers, providing a dynamic experience for players. The inclusion of three kick-out holes adds an extra layer of challenge, while a roll-under spinner offers strategic opportunities, along with a 3-bank drop target and a horseshoe lane.
Very little is known about the designer or any specific theme behind the Master, leaving it somewhat enigmatic among enthusiasts and collectors. Nonetheless, its solid-state electronic configuration and distinctive feature set make it an attractive addition for those interested in exploring the lesser-documented corners of pinball history.
