Slam 'N Jam
About This Machine
Slam, designed by Wally Welch for Alvin G. and Company, never made it to production. When the company shut down, only two working prototype whitewood machines and a third, unpopulated whitewood playfield existed — Alvin G.'s engineering lab had been assembling and testing the game up to that point, but no production units were ever built or sold.
As a basketball-themed solid-state four-player game from a manufacturer active only from 1991 to 1994, Slam represents an unfinished chapter of Alvin G.'s short run rather than a released title. Little is documented about its specific gameplay rules or playfield layout beyond its prototype status.
Because it was never produced, surviving examples are limited to the handful of prototypes that were built during development, making Slam a genuine rarity — but one collectors should understand as an unreleased prototype rather than a limited production run.
