Tie Score
About This Machine
Tie Score, manufactured by Scientific Machine Corporation of Brooklyn, New York in May 1936, is an early electro-mechanical (EM) pinball machine. Scientific Machine Corporation operated from 1932 to 1950, producing a number of games during this period, including Tie Score.
Little specific documentation survives about Tie Score's gameplay, scoring objectives, or design. As with other EM machines from this era, it would have used electromagnets and relays to control play, though it predates the flipper — which would not be introduced into pinball until more than a decade later.
Beyond its basic manufacturing details, little is known about Tie Score's artwork or theme. It remains a scarce example from the early, experimental period of 1930s pinball history.
