About This Machine
Junior is a single-player, pure mechanical tabletop/counter game manufactured in October 1935 by G. M. Laboratories, Incorporated of Chicago, Illinois.
Gameplay is simple and mechanical: a pull of the plunger sends five colored balls zig-zagging down the field into a pocket, with scoring based on the order in which the colors land. This straightforward, skill-and-chance design was typical of small tabletop amusement games of the mid-1930s.
Little further information survives about Junior's artwork or theme. G. M. Laboratories operated only briefly, from 1935 to 1936, and Junior represents one of that short-lived company's tabletop offerings from the period.
