About This Machine

The Jockey Club, released by Exhibit Supply Company (ESCO) in June 1935, is a horse-racing-themed electro-mechanical machine. Interestingly, a small quantity of this game was originally produced under the title "Jockey Club" by the Electro-Ball Company before ESCO acquired the rights to manufacture it themselves.

The game's horse-racing theme centers players' objectives around shooting balls into scoring targets and pockets representing a simulated race, a popular theme for novelty pinball of the period. As a pre-flipper EM machine, play involved a plunger-launched ball and fixed playfield elements rather than player-controlled flippers.

Specific details about Jockey Club's artwork and rule set have not survived in available documentation. Its connection to Electro-Ball Company's original release adds an interesting wrinkle to ESCO's early product history in the mid-1930s.
