Ambassador
About This Machine
The Ambassador, produced by Bally Manufacturing Corporation in 1936, is a single-player electro-mechanical (EM) machine (Model 82) from the company's early days. It predates the invention of flippers by more than a decade -- flippers were not introduced until 1947 -- so gameplay would have relied on a plunger-launched ball interacting with bumpers and targets, with mechanical relays and switches recording the score.
Specific gameplay features on the Ambassador are largely undocumented, and its design would have been characteristic of other early Bally EM machines from the same period.
Given its age, the Ambassador is an extremely rare and valuable collector's item; a surviving, working example would be a notable discovery. There is no additional information available on the machine's design, art, or theme, leaving much to speculation among pinball enthusiasts.
