About This Machine
Lortium, produced in 1987 by Juegos Populares, S.A. of Madrid, Spain, is a Solid State Electronic four-player machine with a space fantasy theme. (See also Automaticos MonteCarlo's version of 'Lortium.')
Gameplay features three flippers, two pop bumpers, a slingshot, six standup targets, two 3-bank drop targets, two spinning targets, two messenger balls, and a ramp diverter, along with left-side dual inlanes. The backbox is notably tall, and the playfield is covered in plexiglas.
Details about Lortium's designer are not well documented, but its space fantasy theme and unusually tall backbox make it a distinctive entry among Spanish solid-state machines of the late 1980s.
