About This Machine

The Flip-VI, manufactured in 1990 by Industria (Electromecánica) de Recreativos S.A. (INDER) of Madrid, Spain, is a Solid State Electronic four-player machine with a soccer/football theme. It is essentially the same game as INDER's 1990 'Mundial 90,' but with a different head containing a video screen.

Gameplay includes two flippers, two pop bumpers, a slingshot, seven standup targets, a 5-bank drop target, a captive ball, a spinning target, a catapult, a left outlane kickback, and dual inlanes. The lockdown bar features a joystick and three green buttons on the left side and a joystick with three red buttons on the right, in addition to the usual flipper buttons - suggesting the pinball and video portions of the game could be played independently, possibly to save floor space at locations that couldn't fit two separate cabinets.

The drop-down cabinet gives the Flip-VI a compact footprint. Details about the machine's designer and exact operation are not well documented, but its hybrid pinball/video concept makes it one of the more unusual entries in INDER's catalog.
