About This Machine

Stellar Airship is a solid-state conversion kit produced in 1979 by Geiger-Automatenbau GmbH of Germany. Like the rest of Geiger's conversion kit lineup, it took an existing American pinball cabinet - in this case Bally's 1977 'Eight Ball' - and refitted it with new artwork and an Outer Space/Fantasy theme by artist Michele "Mike" Martinelli, who did the artwork for all of Geiger's conversion kits. 200 units were confirmed produced, running on a Bally MPU AS-2518-17.

The underlying gameplay carries over from Eight Ball's layout: two flippers, three pop bumpers, two spinning targets, and a left outlane kickback that adds an extra layer of risk management to the game.

As a conversion rather than an original design, Stellar Airship's appeal lies in its distinctive space-themed reskin of a well-known Bally title, offering European operators a fresh take on a proven cabinet during the late 1970s.
