Lucky Twins
About This Machine
Lucky Twins was manufactured by the DeLuxe Amusement Company of San Antonio, Texas in February 1933, during the brief two years (1932-1934) the company was in business. It's a two-player, pure mechanical machine from pinball's earliest commercial era, though it arrived a couple of years after Bally's pioneering 'Ballyhoo' (1931-32) rather than predating it.
Gameplay on Lucky Twins is built around two side-by-side playfields, each with its own ball shooter, allowing two players to compete simultaneously - an inventive layout for its time.
DeLuxe Amusement Company is a lesser-known name in pinball history compared to giants like Bally and Gottlieb, making Lucky Twins a relatively obscure find. Beyond its dual-playfield design, little else is documented about its theme, artwork, or original rules, but its age and rarity make it a notable piece for collectors of early mechanical pinball.
