Delhi
About This Machine
Delhi, produced by Dallas Novelty Sales Company Incorporated of Dallas, Texas in November 1932, is a two-player pure mechanical pinball machine from the earliest years of the coin-operated pinball industry. Like the same company's 'Bagdad,' it used an interchangeable playfield shared with Dallas Novelty's 1932 'All-American Twin,' a practical arrangement that let a single cabinet design support multiple game variants.
As a Pure Mechanical (PM) machine, Delhi's gameplay relied on physical mechanisms and gravity rather than any electrical components, consistent with pinball's earliest era. Its cabinet was advertised at 26 inches long, 31 inches wide, and 38 inches high.
No designer or theme details are documented for Delhi. Its close relationship to Bagdad and All-American Twin illustrates how regional manufacturers in the early 1930s stretched limited resources by reusing playfield designs across multiple named releases.
