Excalibur
About This Machine
The Excalibur pinball machine is an extraordinarily rare example of early 1980s solid-state electronic (SS) design from Jeutel, a French manufacturer that operated from 1981 to 1986. It was Jeutel's first pinball machine, known to the hobby from a single confirmed unit that appeared at the 1981 Forainexpo show near Paris - no other example has ever been documented.
One of the key features that sets the Excalibur apart is its double playing field design, a relatively rare configuration for early SS machines. The game also has traditional flippers, allowing players to control the ball's movement across the playfield.
Beyond its physical description, little else is documented about Excalibur's gameplay mechanics or theme, making it a true enigma for pinball enthusiasts. Its status as effectively a one-of-a-kind survivor makes it an especially attractive subject for collectors and historians seeking to understand the earliest days of Jeutel and of European solid-state pinball.
