Auto Race

Auto Race is a Gottlieb title dated December 1969 that, according to production records, was never actually manufactured - it exists in Gottlieb's documentation as a planned Italian-market adaptation of the company's 'Road Race' that was ultimately never produced. Designed by Ed Krynski with art by Art Stenholm, and assigned model number 276, it stands as one of the more elusive entries in Gottlieb's catalog: a title that reached the design stage and received a model number but apparently never went into production.

Because it was never built, no verified examples of Auto Race are known to exist, and detailed information about its intended playfield layout, gameplay, and specific artwork is not available beyond its planning stage.

As an unproduced adaptation of 'Road Race' intended for the Italian market, Auto Race offers a glimpse into Gottlieb's export strategy of the era - and a reminder that not every title on the drawing board made it to the factory floor.
