About This Machine

Jump Shot, designed by Ed Krynski with art by Gordon Morison, is a single-player electro-mechanical Add-A-Ball pinball machine manufactured by D. Gottlieb & Company in January 1972, released as model 332. Rather than being a late-era EM title, Jump Shot came from the middle of Gottlieb's long EM production run - the company continued to build electromechanical machines all the way into 1979, well after most competitors had switched to solid-state electronics.

As an Add-A-Ball game, players earned extra balls for reaching scoring milestones instead of a numeric replay, a common configuration for the era. Specific details of Jump Shot's playfield layout and theme are not well documented, though the game was later adapted into an Italian-market version, released as 'All Stars.'

Jump Shot is a solid example of Gottlieb's prolific early-1970s Add-A-Ball output, produced during a period when the company was still firmly committed to electromechanical technology, years before its eventual and notably delayed transition to solid-state machines.
