All Stars
About This Machine
All Stars, designed by Ed Krynski with art by Gordon Morison, is a single-player electro-mechanical Add-A-Ball pinball machine manufactured by D. Gottlieb & Company in January 1972. It's an Italian-market adaptation of Gottlieb's domestic release 'Jump Shot,' produced under model number 331.
As an Add-A-Ball machine, players who reached scoring thresholds earned extra balls rather than a numeric replay, a common format for export and route-oriented EM games of the period. Beyond its production credits and its relationship to 'Jump Shot,' detailed documentation of All Stars' specific target layout and theme has not survived.
All Stars is a useful example of Gottlieb's common practice of reworking a domestic title, often with cosmetic and structural changes, for release in markets like Italy - a strategy the company used repeatedly with EM machines through the early 1970s.
