Eros One
About This Machine
Eros One, manufactured by Fascination Int., Incorporated and released in March 1979, is a solid-state electronic cocktail table pinball machine built around a Greek mythology theme, with artwork by R. Michael Torrey. It's part of a small niche of cocktail-table pinball machines produced during the late 1970s, played by two players from opposite sides of a low table-style cabinet.
Gameplay centers on a five-balls-for-25-cents format, offering more play per credit than many contemporaries. The layout includes two flippers, three pop bumpers, two slingshots, four drop targets, three standup targets, three star rollovers, a horseshoe lane, and a return gate on the right outlane. Scoring is shown on a six-digit LED display, with adjustable replay scores and balls per game. The cabinet could reportedly be raised on extendable legs to roughly 50 inches for standing play, and sound was provided by three chimes and a knocker.
Notably, Eros One appears nearly identical to Allied Leisure's 1978 'Flame of Athens,' both built on an Allied Leisure MPU, though the exact relationship and differences between the two games are not fully documented. That overlap, combined with its relatively obscure history, makes Eros One an interesting curiosity for collectors of late-1970s cocktail-table pinball.
