Timothy T.
About This Machine
Timothy T. is a rare piece of pinball history, manufactured by C.E.A. of Bologna, Italy in 1977. It's a solid-state electronic machine built with a horse racing theme, a fitting choice given that Bologna is home to an important horse racetrack.
The playfield includes two spinning targets, two standup targets, three pop bumpers, and two star rollovers, but no slingshots. Depending on the playfield version, the game was built with either two or four flippers. A related one-player electromechanical version, also called Timothy T., was produced alongside this four-player solid-state model.
Little else is documented about Timothy T.'s specific ruleset, artwork, or production numbers, and much of its design history remains unclear. Its combination of horse-racing theme and solid-state electronics, built by one of the small number of Italian pinball manufacturers of the era, makes it a notable curiosity for collectors.
