Three Aces
About This Machine
The Three Aces pinball machine is a rare example of late-1970s solid-state technology from Costruzioni Elettroniche Automatiche (C.E.A.) of Bologna, Italy. Produced in 1979 near the end of C.E.A.'s 1977-1979 run, it reflects the small wave of Italian manufacturers experimenting with electronic pinball in that era.
Little detail survives about the game's specific ruleset, playfield layout, or artwork. What is documented is its four-player solid-state format, typical of the period's family-oriented machines. The reverse side of its promotional flyer also featured C.E.A.'s other 1979 release, Super Tris.
Very little is known about this machine's design, art, or theme, which adds to its mystique. The lack of documentation and research on Three Aces has contributed to its relative obscurity among pinball collectors and historians. Owning a Three Aces represents an opportunity to own a piece of pinball history that remains largely unexplored by the community.
