About This Machine

Ice Castle is a solid-state electronic pinball design credited to Midway Manufacturing Company (operating under the Bally trade name), designed by John Popadiuk. However, the game was never put into production, model number 2004, and no commercial units were built or sold.

Because Ice Castle never made it past the design stage, detailed information about its theme, rules, and gameplay features has not survived. Popadiuk went on to become a well-known pinball designer with credits on other Williams and Bally titles later in his career, which adds some historical interest to this early, unproduced work.

As an unproduced prototype, Ice Castle exists today only as a design record rather than a physical machine, making it a footnote of interest primarily to those researching Popadiuk's design history and Midway/Bally's unreleased concepts.
