Cosmic Flash
About This Machine
Cosmic Flash is a solid-state electronic pinball machine from NSM/LÖWEN of Bingen, Germany, released in October 1985. Little-known outside dedicated collector circles, it nonetheless packs a lively feature set for its era.
At its core, Cosmic Flash is a Space Fantasy themed machine, played with two flippers, three pop bumpers, and two slingshots, working alongside six standup targets, a 3-bank drop target, a 3-in-line drop target bank, and a kick-out hole. A distinctive touch is its bounce-back outlanes, which let players nudge a draining ball back into play rather than losing it outright.
Cosmic Flash uses a Bell Games playfield under license, an unusual arrangement that ties this German-built machine to the Bell Games lineup. Artwork is credited to Michele "Mike" Martinelli. Little else is documented about the machine's design history, but as a lesser-known 1980s solid-state title, it remains an interesting find for collectors exploring beyond the mainstream American manufacturers.
