Pamco Races
About This Machine
Pamco Races, released in January 1937 by Pacific Amusement Manufacturing Company (PAMCO) of Chicago, is a one-ball, payout-style electro-mechanical machine with a horse-racing theme. It comes from late in PAMCO's short run as a manufacturer, which operated from 1932 to 1937.
One of the standout features of Pamco Races is its bowl-shaped "Score drome" playfield, which gives the game a distinctive, curved playing surface. As a one-ball payout machine, gameplay centers on a single launched ball settling into scoring pockets, with seven coin slots supporting play.
The machine's designer is not documented, and little else is known about its specific artwork, though it fits the horse-racing theming common to payout machines of the mid-1930s. As a product of a short-lived and lesser-known manufacturer, Pamco Races is a scarce piece of pre-war pinball history.
