Odin Deluxe

Odin Deluxe is a four-player solid-state pinball machine made in 1985 by Segasa, operating under its Sonic trade name in Spain. Its theme draws on Norse mythology, and it invites comparison to a similarly named contemporary, Peyper's 1985 'Odin.'

The backglass credits 'THE CREATOR E. Pingarrón' -- Eulogio Pingarrón, described in Sonic's own promotional flyer as 'a professional with over twenty years in the design and manufacture of pinball machines' who collaborated with the company on this release. Interestingly, that same flyer's backglass photo omits the on-cabinet credit, and it isn't clear whether Pingarrón was a Sonic employee or an outside collaborator -- Sonic's own design staff may also have contributed.

Beyond its Norse theme and disputed design credit, little further documentation survives about Odin Deluxe's specific playfield features or production run, making it a curious footnote in 1980s Spanish pinball manufacturing.
