UFO-X
About This Machine
The UFO-X, manufactured by Playmatic of Barcelona, Spain in November 1984, is a solid-state pinball machine whose playfield is identical to Playmatic's 1984 'KZ-26.' Its circuit boards were engineered by E.F.O., also of Barcelona.
The game features three flippers, two pop bumpers, nine star rollovers, a pair of 3-bank drop targets, four standup targets, three kick-out holes, a spinning target, and a captive ball that lands in the third kick-out hole -- and notably, no slingshots. This dense arrangement of targets and lanes gives the machine a busy, feature-rich layout typical of Playmatic's mid-1980s output.
Despite limited documentation on this specific machine beyond its technical features, its shared playfield design with KZ-26 and its place in Playmatic's catalog during the company's long production run (1968-1987) make it an interesting entry for collectors researching the manufacturer's history.
