TV-Baseball
About This Machine
TV-Baseball, manufactured by Chicago Coin Machine Manufacturing Company in March 1966, is a two-player electro-mechanical bat game, part of a long-running series of baseball-themed machines that Chicago Coin produced throughout the 1960s.
One of the standout features of TV-Baseball is its use of two unpainted metal ramps, allowing players to score home runs by navigating the ball through them -- a relatively novel mechanical feature for the mid-1960s. Another distinctive element is the "C-A-N-C-E-L" target system: hitting all six targets cancels an out, giving players another chance to keep an inning alive.
The backglass features light animation of men running the bases, adding a dynamic visual element tied directly to on-field play. No information is available on the game's designer, but as part of Chicago Coin's well-regarded baseball/bat game lineage, TV-Baseball remains a notable piece of 1960s electro-mechanical pinball for enthusiasts to explore.
