Up Away

Up Away, manufactured by Industria (Electromecánica) de Recreativos S.A. (INDER) of Madrid, Spain, is a 1975 electro-mechanical pinball machine from one of Spain's notable pinball manufacturers, which operated from 1970 to 1993.

Up Away features two flippers, three pop bumpers, seven standup targets, and an upper-left kicker lane, combining to create a fairly standard but engaging mid-1970s EM ruleset. The kicker lane adds an extra layer of unpredictability to shots on that side of the playfield.

The machine's outer-space fantasy theme was a popular subject for pinball in the 1970s. Unfortunately, little information is available about the designer or artist behind Up Away. Nonetheless, it remains an interesting example of Spanish pinball manufacturing for enthusiasts seeking machines outside the mainstream American and European lines.
