Party Animal
About This Machine
Party Animal, manufactured by Bally Wulff of Germany and released in June 1987, is a solid-state pinball machine that leans fully into an over-the-top 1980s party theme. It shipped with two different translites depending on the market: a bar version with a plain beer stein, and a home version featuring a stein branded "Dad's Rootbeer."
The game's standout features are its toys: a jukebox that changes tunes whenever targets are hit, and a toad perched on a toadstool that jumps when struck. With three flippers, two ramps, and three out holes, Party Animal gives players plenty of shots to aim for while also carrying real risk of draining through one of its multiple outlanes.
While little is documented about the specific designers behind Party Animal, its playful toys and unmistakably 1980s aesthetic make it a distinctive, if lesser-known, entry in Bally Wulff's catalog from the tail end of the decade.
