About This Machine

'London,' designed by Don Hooker for Bally Manufacturing Corporation (Model 853), is a single-player electro-mechanical bingo-style pinball machine with a 'World Places' theme.

London introduced the 'Twin Numbers' feature -- the first use of this mechanic in a Bally bingo machine. Players can press buttons to rearrange colored sections on a card in the backglass, provided these purchasable features are active: pressing before the 4th ball, before the 5th ball, or after the 5th ball. The playfield also includes 20 trap holes, along with Mystic Lines and Special Game features typical of Bally's bingo-style machines of the era.

Details on London's exact release date have not survived, but as a Don Hooker design and the debut of the Twin Numbers feature, it holds a notable place among Bally's bingo pinball output.
