Mac Jungle

Mac Jungle is a 1987 solid state pinball machine produced by Maquinas Automaticas Computerizadas (MAC S.A.) of Madrid, Spain, running on the company's MAC System IV hardware. It is a conversion kit built on MAC S.A.'s own 1986 title "Mac's Galaxy," repurposed with a Fantasy/Jungle theme -- a common industry practice that let operators refresh an existing cabinet's playfield and artwork without buying entirely new hardware. (MAC S.A. later reused the "Mac Jungle" name in 1995 for an unrelated game with a different playfield and theme.)

Gameplay includes two flippers, two pop bumpers, two slingshots, two 4-bank drop targets, two messenger balls, two standup targets, a horseshoe lane, and left dual inlanes. The backbox is notable for having both an inner and an outer backglass, both made of plastic.

Details about the machine's designer and development are scarce, as is typical for MAC S.A.'s output, aimed primarily at the Spanish market during the company's brief 1986-1987 run. As a conversion kit rather than a ground-up new machine, Mac Jungle offers an interesting look at how smaller European manufacturers stretched their game designs across multiple releases.
