House of Diamonds
About This Machine
House of Diamonds, produced by Zaccaria of Bologna, Italy in July 1978, is a four-player, solid-state pinball machine with a cards/gambling theme and artwork by Lorenzo Rimondini. A single-player electro-mechanical version of the same game was released the same year as Zaccaria's Queen's Castle.
The game's layout is built around four flippers, two pop bumpers, and two slingshots, giving players a challenging, symmetrical shot set. Ten standup targets provide the bulk of the scoring opportunities, supplemented by a kick-out hole, a roll-under spinner, and a horseshoe lane that adds a distinctive shot to the layout.
Detailed information about the specific designer and marketing of House of Diamonds is limited, but its gambling-themed art and relatively feature-dense layout, including four flippers rather than the more common two, make it a notable Zaccaria title from the late 1970s.
