About This Machine

Evil Fight is a solid-state, four-player fantasy-themed pinball machine produced by Playmatic of Barcelona, Spain in March 1980, running on the company's Playmatic MPU-C hardware. By this point Playmatic had been an established Spanish pinball manufacturer for over a decade.

The machine offers a varied feature set: three flippers, a pop bumper, a mushroom bumper, five star rollovers, four drop targets, four standup targets, and two kick-out holes. Operators could configure multiplayer games as either Alternating (player-up changes after each ball) or Continuous (each player completes a full game before the next begins), giving locations flexibility in how games were run.

Evil Fight has a memorable audio touch: starting a game plays the theme from 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind,' while Game Over plays Bach's 'Toccata and Fugue in D minor.' While specific designer credits aren't documented, the fantasy theme and varied target layout reflect Playmatic's mature, distinctive style during this period of its output.
