Dinosaur Eggs
About This Machine
Dinosaur Eggs is a solid-state electronic redemption pinball machine released by Alvin G. and Company in August 1993, in a limited run of approximately 100 units. It was designed by Lyle Williman, with music and sound by Kyle Johnson and Matt Scott.
The machine's standout feature is its tilting, flipperless playfield: handles on the front of the cabinet let the player raise and lower the playfield in all four directions to guide the ball through a lit path. Successfully maneuvering the ball vends tickets as a reward, making this a redemption-style game rather than a traditional scoring pinball machine. An earlier game with a similar maneuverable playfield was Williams' 1983 'Rat Race.'
The dinosaur theme is rendered in colorful artwork befitting its early-1990s release. As a relatively rare, low-production redemption title, Dinosaur Eggs is of particular interest to collectors who appreciate unconventional, hands-on pinball mechanics.
