1957 Baseball Deluxe
About This Machine
The 1957 Baseball Deluxe (model 182), manufactured by Williams Manufacturing Company in January 1957, is a single-player electro-mechanical baseball-themed pinball machine featuring mechanical backbox animation, continuing Williams' long-running series of baseball titles that dated back to at least 1953. A novelty-play version of this game was released as Williams' 'Baseball' the same year.
The machine features three ramps made of unpainted metal, adding a distinctive shot variety to its baseball-themed gameplay. Flippers had already been standard in pinball design for roughly a decade by 1957, and the 1957 Baseball Deluxe uses them alongside its ramps to create an engaging shot-making experience.
Little is documented about the machine's designer or exact production numbers, but as part of Williams' well-established baseball lineage, it represents a mature, polished entry in the company's sports-themed EM catalog from the late 1950s.
