Deluxe Baseball

Deluxe Baseball, manufactured by United Manufacturing Company in February 1959, is a two-player electro-mechanical baseball-themed pinball machine featuring mechanical backbox animation — a hallmark of the 'bat game' style popular in this era. It is a replay version of United's 1959 'Yankee Baseball,' with an added match feature.

The machine features three ramps made of unpainted metal, a distinctive visual and mechanical touch among EM machines of the period. Baseball was a well-established pinball theme by the late 1950s, and Deluxe Baseball continues that tradition with its animated backbox depicting base-running action.

With a manufacturer's list price of $990 when new, Deluxe Baseball represents United's continued investment in sports-themed EM design during the late 1950s, making it a solid piece of that era's catalog for collectors.
