Caribbean Cruise
About This Machine
The Caribbean Cruise pinball machine, released by International Concepts of Kansas City in 1989 and manufactured by Premier under contract, is a solid-state (SS) cocktail-table pinball machine designed by John Trudeau, with artwork by David Moore and Constantino and Jeanine Mitchell. Its cocktail-table format, built around a Gottlieb System 3 MPU, makes it a distinctive entry among late-1980s pinball releases, of which 377 units were confirmed produced.
From a gameplay perspective, players will appreciate the variety of targets and features packed into its four-player, four-flipper layout: 11 stand-up targets, three star rollovers, two spinning targets, a 3-bank drop target, two pop bumpers, two slingshots, a kick-out hole, and right dual inlanes. A 40-character alphanumeric display embedded in the playfield adds dynamic scoring feedback.
The machine's design and artwork evoke a travel theme centered on adventure and sea voyages, fitting for its Caribbean namesake. Beyond its documented specifications, Caribbean Cruise remains a relatively obscure but interesting example of a cocktail-table pinball machine from the late solid-state era.
