Big Strike
About This Machine
Big Strike, a 1966 electro-mechanical game from Williams, was designed by Steve Kordek, one of the most renowned names in the industry. Released during a period when EM games were at the height of their popularity, this single-player add-a-ball machine carries a fishing theme and is the add-a-ball version of Williams' 1966 replay game 'Hot Line'. A confirmed 3,600 units were produced.
Key to its allure is the incorporation of two flippers and five pop bumpers, providing an energetic experience as players navigate the playfield. A passive bumper and two slingshots add variety to the gameplay, while two standup targets offer challenging shot opportunities and an upper right gate returns the ball to play. Center playfield buttons cleverly spell out "H-O-T-L-I-N-E" to light the Special, rewarding skillful players. This attention to detail reflects Kordek's dedication to crafting engaging experiences.
Big Strike's design and artwork are notable for their period-specific aesthetic, with bold colors and crisp illustrations evoking the spirit of 1960s pinball, making it a pleasing find among collectors and enthusiasts today.
