About This Machine

Big Star is an electro-mechanical add-a-ball pinball machine from Williams Electronics, designed by Steve Kordek and released in May 1972 with artwork by Christian Marche. It is the add-a-ball counterpart to Williams' 1972 replay game 'Super Star', and with a confirmed production run of just 1,130 units it is a relatively uncommon title.

The machine features two flippers and four pop bumpers, plus a drop target that blocks a kick-out hole in the center of the playfield, adding an extra layer of challenge to the game. The left and right outlanes each have a mini-post, giving skilled players a chance to save balls that would otherwise drain.

With its singing and music theme, Big Star's artwork reflects the bright colors and stylized graphics characteristic of early-1970s Williams games, and its limited production run makes it a cherished find among pinball enthusiasts and collectors.
