About This Machine

Wild West, designed by Harry Mabs with art by Roy Parker, was manufactured by Gottlieb in 1951, with 800 confirmed units produced. It holds a notable place in Mabs' career as the last game he designed for Gottlieb before moving on.

Wild West features two flippers, four pop bumpers, four kick-out holes, a single drop target, and a V-shaped ball saver between the flippers, all set against a Western theme. Two bells provide the game's sound. The drop target uses the same style introduced in Gottlieb's earlier 1951 title 'Minstrel Man' - a stationary target in front of a plastic image that drops into the playfield once hit.

Unfortunately, little additional information about this machine's production or reception has been documented, but its status as Harry Mabs' final Gottlieb design gives it a notable place in the designer's body of work and in early-1950s Gottlieb history.
