About This Machine

The Wiggler, designed by Ted Zale with art by Jerry Kelley, was manufactured by Bally in August 1967. This electro-mechanical, four-player pinball machine is notable for introducing "zipper" flippers to gameplay, along with a 3-ball multiball feature, both distinctive elements of its design.

The machine's layout includes three pop bumpers, three mushroom bumpers, two slingshots, two kick-out holes, a chicane lane, a left drop lane, and a right outlane ball return gate, all contributing to a challenging and rewarding play experience. The Wiggler was also the first game from Bally to feature a lift-up playfield glass, a convenience that would become standard on future machines. Backglasses were produced in both crystal glass and Plexiglas versions.

The Wiggler's fantasy theme is depicted through vibrant, whimsical artwork. With 3,410 units confirmed produced, plus rarer add-a-ball variants (including a factory add-a-ball export version found in France) and a rebadged German release simply titled 'Wiggler,' the game remains a distinctive and collectible piece of Bally's late-1960s EM lineup.
