Top It
About This Machine
Top It, manufactured by A.B.T. Manufacturing Company of Chicago in 1936, is an early single-player electro-mechanical pinball machine with a playing-dice theme. Players got two balls for five cents, a notable value proposition in the early days of coin-operated pinball.
Gameplay on Top It is built around 12 trap holes to capture balls, plus a kicker to propel them back into play. The machine's design is typical of the era, with a straightforward layout centered on scoring via the trap holes.
Despite being a relatively rare example of A.B.T.'s output, Top It remains an interesting artifact from the development of early single-player EM pinball. Little further information is documented about the machine's designer or any notable trivia surrounding its creation, but it stands as a piece of 1930s pinball history.
