About This Machine

Title Fight, designed by Ray Tanzer and manufactured by Premier Technology (under the Gottlieb trade name) in October 1990, is a boxing-themed solid-state machine notable for its unusual five-flipper layout and mechanical backbox animation of two boxers fighting. Only 1,000 units were confirmed produced.

The game features 10 standup targets, four messenger balls, four star rollovers, a 5-bank and 3-bank drop target arrangement, a pop bumper, a kick-out hole, and a short ball shooter lane. Scoring is displayed on two 20-digit alpha-numeric blue Futaba displays.

Title Fight was one of Gottlieb's "street level" games -- a short-lived experiment in simpler, single-level, ramp-free cabinets meant to be smaller and cheaper to build. Only six such titles were ever made, and they did not sell well commercially, making Title Fight a scarce and distinctive entry from Gottlieb's early-1990s catalog.
