Time 2000
About This Machine
Time 2000 is a solid-state electronic pinball machine designed by Marty Rosenthal and released by Atari in June 1977, one of the company's early widebody titles. Its software and sound were handled by Eugene Jarvis, with art by Jim Kelly and George Opperman.
The game features four flippers, two pop bumpers, and two slingshots, giving players a range of ways to control the ball's trajectory. Eight star rollovers, five standup targets, two drop targets, and two kick-out holes add layers of challenge, and the machine's widebody "Action Ring" adds a distinctive shot to the layout, along with a right outlane ball-return gate for smoother play.
The Time 2000's fantasy theme is reflected in its artwork. As one of Atari's early pinball releases, it offers a window into the company's brief but distinctive run in the pinball market during the late 1970s.
