Stormy
About This Machine
Stormy, manufactured by Pacific Amusement Manufacturing Company (PAMCO) in August 1937, is a single-player electro-mechanical pinball machine. It dates to near the end of PAMCO's run -- the company operated from 1932 to 1937 -- making it one of the company's later releases rather than an early one.
Little specific documentation survives about Stormy's gameplay features, artwork, or theme. As with many pinball machines from this period, it would have relied on the electro-mechanical technology and general playfield conventions of mid-1930s design, predating the introduction of the player-controlled flipper by roughly a decade.
Given the limited surviving records, Stormy remains a somewhat obscure entry in PAMCO's catalog, of interest primarily to collectors and historians researching the company's final years of pinball production.
